My love for nature

First of all, it is important to mention that my parents infused me with my love for nature. When I was young, I did a lot of camping. Many memories emerge when I think of my camping trips with my parents and sister. Frog hunting, swimming, canoeing, campfire, sleeping in a tent trailer and friendships at the campground are just some of the memories that come to mind. As a teenager it's no longer cool to camp, so I had a break:) In the mid-twenties this passion came back to me and I started to equip myself. Tent, burner, camping stuff I have everything. Well...I thought I had everything! When you meet Yannick, you realize that you still have a lot to get! Not only do you camp, but you leave for full days with your packsack and tent for the adventure. But this, we will talk more about it in another article:)

Travelling

Beyond camping I love to travel. As soon as the opportunity presents itself, I zip through the plane tickets to find the deal of the hour. Whether it is for an accelerated stay of 4 days or a longer stay of 2 weeks, I always manage to make the most of it. So far I have visited a good part of the United States, some Central American countries, Colombia, Portugal, Spain, Italy and Malta. I will not hide the fact that several other countries will be added to my list in the coming years!

My work

For more than ten years but a little less than fifteen years (just to mix you up a little) I have been working in the web industry for the same company. Over the years I have gone from web integrator (coding websites) to web designer (making websites look pretty) to analyst (it almost looks boring said this way!). I think the reason I'm still at my first employer since the beginning of my career is because of the exceptional gang I work with every day. I'm cherish this!

Reconciling work and the outdoor

Going from a closed office universe to a campground - you have to strike a balance between. I would be lying to you if I told you that it is 100% okay for me to sit in front of a computer 8 hours a day. You have to make a living! To do this, I allow myself to optimize my weekends as a couple or as a family with my boyfriend's children. We are not afraid to drive at any time of the day. We must not be intimidated by our 9 to 5 schedule. When the excitement of wanting to go on an adventure takes hold of us, it helps us recharge our batteries!

What else?

I love cooking. For me, eating well is essential. I am passionate about good food, and I am conscious of what I eat. It is therefore important for me to know what I am eating. I try to avoid processed foods as much as possible. So I make my almond milk, my mayo, my dressings, my smoothies and so on. Who knows, maybe I'll share some recipes? Let me know if you're interested!

I love gardening. Yes, I'm in an apartment, so what? my tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and herbs are doing great! In addition, I make my own seeds. I give them a lot of love... I talk to them! GROW!!!!!

I like to keep in shape. Yannick and I are hiking lovers. Towards the end of our hikes, we often end up trail running for a little extra challenge. Other than that, I like to run on the river bank or even at Mount Royal. Come on, go Sophie, GO!

Finally, I love Life. I am lucky to have an extraordinary Lover who shares the same passions as me and pushes me to stand out day after day. After all, we only have one to live, so we might as well enjoy it!
